Help Save G&O!

Bad news, but a glimmer of hope.

If you haven’t heard, there was a fire and explosion on our block. Our fabulous neighbors at Mr Gyros and Neptune Coffee were badly damaged.

We do not know what this means for G&O but we will work to make sure you and your bikes are well taken care of.

The shop is still standing, but it has suffered major damage. It is unclear whether we will be able to rebuild in our current location, or if that will be impossible and G&O will be forced to relocate.
Whatever happens, we will survive and grow, with you, our amazing friends. Just like our darling Greenwood, we will rise again.

There are at least two fundraising projects ongoing, as well as benefits around the neighborhood. has details on how to help!

Many of you have reached out and offered help. Thank you! The response has been overwhelming, and with all the crisis management we have going on, we will likely fail to respond to each of you individually. We regret this, because each and every one of you, individually, rock our world.

All customer bikes currently in our custody are safe, all upcoming appointments will need to be rescheduled. We are so sorry for the interruption in our service and sales support. Bear with us, we’ll be back as soon as we can.

If you are in Greenwood, please, support your local stores and restaurants, we will all need to pull together to get out of this rubble-pile we find ourselves in.

Thank you for helping to Save G&O. We love you!

  1. Although only in the Phinney/Greenwood area for 2.5 years I ‘ve quickly come to appreciate the neighborhood feel to the area. Odd to me that people think big city living is not conducive to a friendly caring community. With that said, I want to say I’ve been test riding your e-bikes and have much enjoyed our interactions and your patience. My plan was to test one more bike, but will put all on hold until you folks are ready to entertain new customers.
And yes, my husband will support relief efforts for the local businesses. Thank you

  2. I love your store, am planning to buy an electric assist bike when you are up and running. I’m glad bikes weren’t damaged.
We live close and are eating and drinking as much as possible on the block. We are thankful it happened in the middle of the night and no one was seriously injured.

We hope to see you again soon! If you’ve got a mailing list please put me on it.

    Thank you,

    Nora and Duane Wright

  3. We at Gregg’s are thinking of you guys and hoping for the best with building repairs and a speedy re-0pening. If we can offer our shop vans and any help moving inventory or fixtures please let us know.

  4. I so wish you all the very best, and if in some small way an article would be of help, I would be interested in writing one for G&O. I view my articles as a way to give back to bicycling, the Seattle bicycling community, and advocate for the best for bicyclists.
